Longpré les Corps Saints, named for the large number of "holy" relics housed in the local church, lies on the river Airaines just 19kms from Abbeville. The town is on the main railway line from Paris (Gare du Nord) to Boulogne sur Mer.
All facilities are to be found in the town which claims around 2,000 inhabitants.
Every year in September the relics are taken from the church and paraded around the town, a celebration not to be missed.
The mill was built in 1638 for the production of oil and is the only one left of the original 28 mills on the Airaines river.
The main entrance to the house takes you into a well decorated open plan lounge and dining room. Behind this is a fully fitted modern kitchen and the corridor leading to the stairs, office and cellar.
On the first floor are four double bedrooms and the bathroom while the top floor is ready for conversion to more bedrooms or a studio.
From the ground floor office continue into a large area that currently offers a workshop and storage and has its own bathroom and kitchen. From here into the meeting hall that also houses the mill grinding mechanism powered by the working wheel outside. This area is available for hire.
Below the mill are the large cellars with the boiler room and storage.
Outside, the gardens have the river to two sides and comprise the main lawned area and the vegetable garden to the far end. A courtyard with large verandah completes the property.
This superb home is offered at a very realistic price and visits are by appointment only with the agent.
