During this period, the owners were a familiar acquaintance of Dante Alighieri and invited him to their property on several occasions. In fact, the property is mentioned by the writer in the Divine Comedy, within the Paradise.

Careful renovation has enabled the property to retain all the original features of the period, such as the stone walls, the terracotta and parquet floors, the vaulted ceilings and wooden beams, the stone fireplaces, the pietra serena elements, the paved terraces, the stone well and the medieval tower.
