Following the first VAUBAN fortifications on the island of Batz at the end of the 18th century (and beginning of the 19th century), the site of the channel fort was entirely reworked in the second part of the 19th century by the construction of a fort similar to those of Ouessant and Belle-Île.
The site was demilitarised and became a private property at the end of the 19th century. Suffering from the destruction of the occupying forces at the end of the Second World War, the fort was partly rebuilt.
This property comprises 2 non-adjoining plots with a surface area of 14,000 m2 on the south-western tip of Batz island.
