Five main buildings is what remains of the vast XIXth century estate. :

The two mills (East and West), the house, the engine room (now empty, used as an orangery) and the barn.
Entrance, on the left the kitchen with its private patio, further on is the winter sitting room where the old wooden stairs lead to the bedrooms.
On the other side of the entrance there is a large room with the grand stairs leading to the gallery (those two last rooms are for summer use)
Over the large kitchen is the study and its West loggia overlooking the patio. Further on, two bedrooms and the shell wet-room designed by Blott Kerr-Wilson.
In the study, the old wooden stairs leads to the second floor with two more bedrooms (another one is ready for conversion) of similar size and basic wet-room. Also on the second floor, over the gallery the painter’s studio. (120M²/1300ft²)

»Magasins » (400m²/4300ft²) per floor plus the empty volume of the silos on the West. This building has been left untouched. Except the slate and glass roof renewed in 2007.
Everything that has been restored has respected the history of the building. Original floor boards, lime-wash on the walls, hemp insulation in the mill, the « scars » of the old use of the building, reclaimed doors in the new partitions.

The house. (150M²/1600ft²) The foreman’s house attached to the mill is more classical.La Minoterie. (English) 30 minutes from the sea, on the edge of the river Le Mignon, the town’s mill is for sale.

»Ateliers ». On the East, overlooking the courtyard the Atelier stand proudly with its 30m long façade. Inside, each floor measure 210M²/2260ft² (x4) but only a fraction is now habitable on three levels heated with pellet boiler and wood burning stove. (240M²/2600ft²)
All renovation is from 2007 Also on the second floor, over the gallery the painter’s studio. (120M²/1300ft²)

On N°4, the green door on the tiny street (2 cars a day!) open onto the corridor. On the left the West facing kitchen/living room over looks the small garden standing over the river. On the right the small cosy sitting room is next to the laundry & wc.
Up the elm wooden stairs the corridors distributes the 3 large bedrooms with fantsatic views over the river and the generous bathroom.

The river also runs underneath the house and one can hear it roaring in the winter month when it is fully flowing. Luckily the wheel is not grinding any more ! The house is totally independent and can be run or sold separately.

All renovation is from 2002 (electrics, plumbing, central heating, wooden windows…) In the yard of the Minoterie The old engine room, (80m²/860ft²) with it’s south facing fully glazed façade has become an orangery or winter garden. Slate roof to be restored.
We also used it as a an artist studio with 5m/16ft high ceiling. Great architectural features. From the first floor good views East/South/West over the allotments and the village.
In the yard, a deep well allows eco-watering.
In 2007 the roofs of the mill have been fully renewed to their original layout. Part of the carpentry is new.
All major work has been done following the agreement of the Architecte des Batiments de France (dedicated state architect in charge of patrimonial conservation).
There isn’t any attached building from the neighbourhood and it isn’t overlooked by anyone else.
