Located between Martina Franca and Locorotondo, in the beating heart of the Itria Valley, we offer for sale an ancient "Neviera" until recently used as a restaurant - reception hall.
This is a historic stone building that has remained unchanged since the 1600s, used in the past as an ice factory owned by the Duke of Martina Franca, today the structure offers different environments where you can spend receptions, both indoors and outdoors.
We need to add another important aspect to understand the architectural majesty of the neviera, 15 meters deep and well structured on an architectural level.
Consisting of a double room, one of which is ancient and one more modern in style, kitchen, pantries, dressing room with bathroom for men, women and the disabled; in the basement we have the historic neviera, during the catering business it was used as a meeting place for wine tastings.
Both in front and behind we have squares where the buffet tables were distributed, an appurtenant garden of approximately 5,000 square meters.

In terms of size and production, located about 3km from Martina on the road to Locorotondo, it was the reference neviera for the entire Itria Valley.
In ancient times, in order to have ice available during the warmer months, the snow was stored in underground constructions suitable for preserving the temperature close to zero: the compressed snow was stored in the form of ice until the following winter.
Built in the seventeenth century, "a n'ver" of the Valle d'Itria was an important ice factory owned by the Duke of Martina Franca, who held the monopoly. The ice was transported from the neviera to the outlets located in the inhabited centres.
