16th-century Convent with garden and olive grove for sale in the historical center of Sarteano, Siena. Built in 1498 along the medieval walls of Sarteano following the convents building rules prescribed by St. Francis, this splendid residence gathers the charm of history handed over through the centuries: for five hundred years it has been the exclusive residence of the cloistered nuns of the Order of the Poor Clare Sisters, for most of the 1900s used as a school and 1970 became a private historic residence. The current owners have transformed this extraordinary residence from a former convent to a hotel, offering charming hospitality to third millennium travellers. The new hotel destination is able to accommodate guests in the spacious panoramic halls and en-suite bedrooms, set up with fine period furnishings, comforted by a vast garden in the shade of pine trees and the vastness of the view of the lakes of Chiusi, Montepulciano and Trasimeno.
